Story of Change: Improving policy processes through social learning in Malawi

Extension and advisory services (EAS) in Malawi are constrained by several problems including poor coordination of multiple actors, shortage of extension staff; low motivation of the field staff working in rural areas; low capacity of service providers in terms of human; physical and financial resources: – hence delivery of low quality services; and a non-functional extension system. NLA Malawi has identified opportunities to inform and support current efforts by government, donors and civil society improve the system.

This Story of Change describes the contribution of the NLA to improving the process for finalising the Strategy in 2019.
